Abandoned Place: History and photo inside this house
The abandoned DUNNINGTON MANSION, also called Poplar Hill in Virginia is a mansion that originally was a brick farm house and was enlarged in 1897 by the Dunnington Family. In 1922, Mr. Dunnington passed away. For the next 40 years his wife continued to live here until she died at the age of 103.
Though it was maintained and lived in after that, no additional info on the home can be found from 1960 to 1998. Sadly the house currently sits decaying away in the middle of an active golf course, which bought the property with plans to restore it for guests and events. The economy tanked, and the plans to restore it never happened. Following several decades of neglect, the manor house has now fallen into disrepair.
