Remember That The Situation You Are In Is Not Your Final Destination

I know that there is a lot of on your mind right now. I don’t whether you are going through some boy troubles, if you are having problems at work or if you are having troubles with your friends or family.

But what I do know is that you are struggling and fighting with a lot right now.

Whatever that is in question, I know you think you’re trapped with no way out and you don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel, no matter how hard you try.

Wherever you look, the only thing you see is failure. You feel lost and unhappy. Or maybe you expected more from life and from yourself?

Maybe you are disappointed in the fact that you didn’t accomplish all those things you had planned.

Before this, you were an optimistic girl, full of life. But now, you see that you’ve changed.

You see that life’s challenges have gotten the best of you. There is no sign of the positive girl you used to be.

Now you’ve become a pessimistic person, full of negativity.

You try very hard but you can’t seem to find your happiness anywhere. You try very hard to look at things from a different point of view but nothing helps you and you don’t know what to do with your life anymore.

You feel exhausted and drained. But most of all, the prevailing emotion you feel is despair.

You don’t see a way out of your current situation and that is the thing that bothers you the most.

But whenever you find yourself in a bad place in your life, just repeat these words: The situation I am in right now might be my current situation but it definitely isn’t my final destination.

Trust me, the best is yet to come. I know you are frustrated with your life, but whatever you are dealing with, it will go away and you will move on.

Because this really is the truth. Whatever is bothering you is a huge deal now but it probably won’t be important in a couple of weeks or months.

Of course, we need more time to get over some things and people but eventually you will move on with your life and you will be better.

I know you don’t believe me now and you probably think you are the most troubled person on the planet. And although I have no intention of undermining your problems, I want to tell you that some things that seem unresolvable right now will appear foolish after a while.

Even when you think it’s not possible, your situation will improve.

Whenever you go through a bad experience, just keep in mind that this is just temporary. Life goes on and whatever is bothering you will eventually go away.

And you’ll be happy that things turned out to be exactly like this. Because it will help you realize that everything in life happens for a reason.

Some things and people you encounter will be your toughest lessons. And once you learn from your mistakes, you’ll be glad that you had them in your life.

Every tear and heartbreak and all the pain you’ve been through will be worth it because they will help you see how strong and powerful you actually are.

I know that there are times when you feel like you have no control over your life. There are moments when you feel helpless, when you feel like there is nothing you could do to overcome some troubles.

You think you are weak and sometimes you are even ashamed of yourself. You know that there are some things you need to change in life but you simply don’t know where to start.

The most important thing you need to do is start believing in yourself. Start improving your life by setting small, easily achievable goals.

Once you accomplish those goals, you’ll feel more proud. You’ll see that you are actually quite strong and that you can achieve whatever you set your mind to.

You’ll see your true power and suddenly, new opportunities will arise.

And once you start believing in yourself and once you boost your confidence, you’ll see how worthy you actually are. And when that happens, you will be able to conquer the world.

My approach is eclectic and holistic with a focus on mindfulness. I have received certifications in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy (trauma), among others. I spent over 10 years at the Veteran’s Administration in Louisville, KY, working as a psychotherapist with veterans of all ages and genders on a wide variety of issues. Prior to that my focus was on young adults and their families and older adults dealing with loss. Individuals have met with me for help to address depression and anxiety, grief, trauma and relational issues as well as work-related/everyday stressors. The therapeutic process provides a safe place for the client, in collaboration with their therapist, to process distress, discover areas of “stuckness” and move forward into a life of increased meaning and joy. Accepting our imperfections and practicing self-compassion can be a difficult as well as rewarding process. I have lived and worked in different areas of the country, have come to understand how regional differences affect our outlooks and appreciate the contrasts. I have relished the opportunity to assist clients as they carry the burdens of life. It would be my privilege to hear your story.
